أَخْبَرَنَا بِجَمِيعِ هَذَا الْكَلَامِ وَمَا نَقَلْتُهُ فِي هَذَا الْبَابِ مِنْ كَلَامِهِ: أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ الْأَصَمُّ، أنبأ الرَّبِيعُ، أنبأ الشَّافِعِيُّ فَذَكَرَهُ، وَلَا أَدْرِي أِيَّ حَدِيثٍ عُورِضَ بِهِ.
Imam al-Shafi'i (may Allah have mercy on him) informed us of all this speech (through the chain), and (al-Bayhaqi) says: I do not know which hadith was put forward against it.
