(a) It is narrated from al-Walid bin Abdullah bin Abi Sumayrah: Abu Tarif (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated to me that he was present with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when he (peace and blessings be upon him) was besieging the people of Ta'if. He (peace and blessings be upon him) used to lead us in the Maghrib prayer at such a time that if a man shot an arrow, he could still see where his arrows fell.
(b) By "salat al-basar" (the prayer of sight) he meant the Maghrib prayer, and it was named "salat al-basar" because it is offered before the darkness of the night.
