وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ أنبأ أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ثنا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الْأَسْفَاطِيُّ ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ: " كَانَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ثَلَاثَةُ مُؤَذِّنِينَ بِلَالٌ وَأَبُو مَحْذُورَةَ وَابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ " قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ: وَالْخَبَرَانِ صَحِيحَانِ يَعْنِي هَذَا وَمَا تَقَدَّمَ فَمَنْ قَالَ: كَانَ لَهُ مُؤَذِّنَانِ أَرَادَ اللَّذَيْنِ كَانَا يُؤَذِّنَانِ بِالْمَدِينَةِ وَمَنْ قَالَ: ثَلَاثَةً أَرَادَ أَبَا مَحْذُورَةَ الَّذِي كَانَ يُؤَذِّنُ بِمَكَّةَ قَالَ الشَّيْخُ: وَفِي اقْتِصَارِهِ بِمَكَّةَ عَلَى مُؤَذِّنٍ وَاحِدٍ دَلَالَةٌ عَلَى جَوَازِ الِاقْتِصَارِ عَلَى مُؤَذِّنٍ وَاحِدٍ.
(a) It is narrated from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had three appointed muezzins: Bilal, Abu Mahdhurah and Ibn Umm Maktum (may Allah be pleased with them). (b) Abu Bakr (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Both reports are sahih (authentic). Those who said there were two muezzins meant the two muezzins of Madinah, and those who said three meant to include Sayyiduna Abu Mahdhurah (may Allah be pleased with him) as well, who used to give the adhan in Makkah.
