وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو زَكَرِيَّا وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ قَالَا: ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ ثنا بَحْرُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ قَالَ: قُرِئَ عَلَى ابْنِ وَهْبٍ: أَخْبَرَكَ حَيْوَةُ بْنُ شُرَيْحٍ عَنْ بَكْرِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لِبَنِي خَطْمَةَ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ: " يَا بَنِي خَطْمَةَ اجْعَلُوا مُؤَذِّنَكُمْ أَفْضَلَكُمْ فِي أَنْفُسِكُمْ " وَهَذَا أَيْضًا مُرْسَلٌ.
It is narrated from Safwan bin Sulaym (may Allah have mercy on him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Banu Khatmah of the Ansar: "O Banu Khatmah, make your muezzin the one who is the most excellent among you." This report too is mursal.
