Sayyiduna Mu'awiyah bin al-Hakam al-Sulami (may Allah be pleased with him) related the hadith about (taking) omens and about sneezing in the prayer, and said: Then I looked at my flock of goats, which a slave girl of mine used to graze near Uhud or al-Jawwaniyyah. A wolf had taken a goat. I am a son of Adam too; just as they get angry, I got angry. I gave her a slap, then I came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and told the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) regarded it as a grave matter. I said: O Messenger of Allah! Shall I free her? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Bring her to me." He said: I brought her to him. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Where is Allah?" She said: In the heaven. He (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Who am I?" She said: You are the Messenger of Allah. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Free her, for she is a believer."
