Husayn bin Abd al-Rahman (may Allah have mercy on him) said: I was sitting with Sa'id bin Jubayr (may Allah have mercy on him), and he said: "(Which of you saw the star that fell last night?)" I said: "My (mentioning this) was so that it would not be thought that I had been praying; rather, (the truth is that) last night I was stung (by a venomous creature)." He asked: "Did you have ruqyah done?" I said that al-Sha'bi narrates from Buraydah bin Husayb (may Allah be pleased with him): "There is no ruqyah except for the evil eye or the sting of a venomous creature." The narrator said that Sa'id bin Jubayr (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Seventy thousand of my Ummah will enter Paradise without reckoning." The narrator asked: Who are they? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Those who do not seek ruqyah, do not take evil omens, and rely upon their Lord."
