أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ شَيْبَانَ الرَّمْلِيُّ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي يَزِيدَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ سِبَاعِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ، سَمِعَهُ مِنْ أُمِّ كُرْزٍ الْكَعْبِيَّةِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا تُحَدِّثُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " عَنِ الْغُلَامِ شَاتَانِ، وَعَنِ الْجَارِيَةِ شَاةٌ، لَا يَضُرُّكُمْ ذُكْرَانًا كُنَّ أَمْ إِنَاثًا " وَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ: " أَقِرُّوا الطَّيْرَ عَلَى مَكَانَاتِهَا ".
Sayyidah Umm Kurz al-Ka'biyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "For a boy two sheep and for a girl one sheep are to be slaughtered in the aqiqah; it does not matter whether they are male or female." And I heard him (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Leave the birds in their places."
