وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، أنبأ أَبُو بَكْرٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ السَّرِيِّ التَّمِيمِيُّ الْحَافِظُ بِالْكُوفَةِ، أنبأ أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ الصَّيْرَفِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، ثنا فِطْرٌ وَهُوَ ابْنُ خَلِيفَةَ، عَنْ مُنْذِرٍ الثَّوْرِيِّ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ الْحَنَفِيَّةِ يَقُولُ: كَانَتْ رُخْصَةً ⦗٥٢١⦘ لِعَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنْ وُلِدَ لِي بَعْدَكَ أُسَمِّيهِ بِاسْمِكَ وَأُكَنِّيهِ بِكُنْيَتِكَ؟ قَالَ: " نَعَمْ ". وَرُوِيَ مِنْ وَجْهٍ آخَرَ ضَعِيفٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ ابْنِ الْحَنَفِيَّةِ، وَالْحَدِيثُ مُخْتَلَفٌ فِي وَصَلِهِ.
Muhammad Ibn al-Hanafiyyah (may Allah have mercy on him) said: This was a concession for Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), when he said: "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), if a child is born to me after you, may I give him a name like your (peace and blessings be upon him) name and a kunyah like your (peace and blessings be upon him) kunyah?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) replied in the affirmative.
