Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was in the market. A man called out, "Abu al-Qasim!" The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) turned around to look, and the man said: I was calling this man. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You may adopt my name, but do not take a kunyah like my kunyah."
