وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو سَعْدٍ، أنبأ أَبُو أَحْمَدَ، ثنا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عَاصِمٍ، ثنا دُحَيْمٌ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ، عَنِ الصَّدَفِيِّ، فَذَكَرَهُ وَقَالَ: عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ. قَالَ أَبُو أَحْمَدَ: وَهَذَا سَوَاءٌ قَالَ: عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ وَسَوَاءٌ قَالَ: عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ، جَمِيعًا غَيْرُ مَحْفُوظَيْنِ لَا يَرْوِيهُمَا غَيْرُ الصَّدَفِيِّ. قَالَ الشَّيْخُ رَحِمَهُ اللهُ: وَالصَّدَفِيُّ ضَعِيفٌ لَا يُحْتَجُّ بِهِ.
The same report has also been narrated through al-Sadafi, in which he said: from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him).
Abu Ahmad (Ibn Adi) said: Whether he said "from al-Zuhri, from Sa'id, from Abu Hurayrah" or "from al-Zuhri, from Ibn al-Musayyib, from Abu Sa'id," both are not preserved (ghayr mahfuz); no one but al-Sadafi narrates them.
Al-Shaykh (al-Bayhaqi) (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Al-Sadafi is da'if (weak) and is not used as evidence.
