Sayyiduna Salamah bin al-Akwa' (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said on the day of sacrifice: "Whoever of you offers a sacrifice, let nothing of it remain in his house on the morning after the third day." When the following year came, we asked him (peace and blessings be upon him): Shall we do as we did the previous year? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No; eat, feed others and store, for that year was a year of hardship" (or he said a word resembling it), "so I wanted you to distribute the meat among the people."
(b) In the narration of Abu Asim (may Allah have mercy on him): "I wanted the meat to become widespread among the people."
