أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي الْمَعْرُوفِ الْفَقِيهُ الْإِسْفِرَايِينِيُّ بِهَا، ثنا أَبُو سَهْلٍ بِشْرُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الْإِسْفِرَايِينِيُّ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمَدِينِيِّ، أنبأ زُهَيْرٌ، أنبأ أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " لَا تَذْبَحُوا إِلَّا مُسِنَّةً إِلَّا إِنْ تَعَسَّرَ عَلَيْكُمْ فَتَذْبَحُوا جَذَعَةً مِنَ الضَّأْنِ ". رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ يُونُسَ عَنْ زُهَيْرٍ.
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Sacrifice only a two-toothed animal (musinnah); in case of necessity, a jadh'ah of sheep may be sacrificed."
