Bayhaqi 18922 — One who shoots or spears game, or releases a dog

Sayyiduna Abu Tha'labah al-Khushani (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I said to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): "We live in a land of game. I hunt with my bow; sometimes I get the chance to slaughter the game and sometimes I do not. And I send my trained dog; sometimes I get the chance to slaughter the game and sometimes I do not." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whatever your bow, your dog or your hand brings back to you, eat it, whether slaughtered or not."
