Abu Ishaq said that a man said to Sayyiduna al-Bara' (may Allah be pleased with him): O Abu Umarah! Did you flee on the Day of Hunayn? He said: By Allah! The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) did not flee; but some young men who had little weaponry met a people who were archers, the gathered tribes of Hawazin and Banu Nasr, whose aim did not miss, and they showered arrows upon them. Then they turned towards the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), while the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was riding his white mule and Sayyiduna Abu Sufyan bin al-Harith bin Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with him) was leading the mule. He (peace and blessings be upon him) dismounted and said: "I am the Prophet, this is no lie; I am the son of Abd al-Muttalib."
