Bayhaqi 18405 — Those who permitted buying land subject to land tax

Ibn Abi Layla (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Hasan bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with them both) bought salt land, and Husayn bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) bought two barids (a measure of distance) of kharaj land. The narrator said: Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) had returned their land to them and made peace with them on the kharaj which he had imposed on them.
