أَخْبَرَنَا بِذَلِكَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ، ثنا الْعَبَّاسُ الدُّورِيُّ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ مَعِينٍ، ⦗١٧٨⦘ قَالَ الشَّيْخُ: وَإِنَّمَا قَالَ ذَلِكَ يَحْيَى لِمَا ظَهَرَ مِنْ سُوءِ فِعْلِهِ فِي قِتَالِ أَهْلِ الْحَرَّةِ وَغَيْرِهِ، وَاللهُ أَعْلَمُ.
The Shaykh (may Allah have mercy on him) said: What Yahya (may Allah have mercy on him) said about him was only because of his evil conduct that became evident in the battle of al-Harrah.
