Bayhaqi 1780 — Evidence that the prayer is not invalidated by the sun

It is narrated from Abu Uthman al-Nahdi (may Allah have mercy on him): I prayed Fajr behind Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), and he did not give the salam until the men of understanding thought that the sun had risen. When he gave the salam, they said: O Commander of the Believers! The sun was about to rise. He says: He said something which I could not understand. I said: What did he say? They said that he said: Had it risen, it would not have found us heedless.
