Bayhaqi 1737 — The Sunnah of calling Maghrib "Maghrib prayer" rather

(a) It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mughaffal (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not let the Bedouins prevail over you regarding the name of your prayer; they call it 'Atamah'."
(b) Shaykh Abu Bakr al-Isma'ili said: The hadith of Abu Mas'ud indicates that it concerns the later Isha prayer, and likewise it has been narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) regarding the later Isha.
However, those who narrated it from Abd al-Samad with the first wording are more numerous.
