أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ، قَالَا: ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، أنبأ الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، أنبأ الشَّافِعِيُّ، ثنا مَالِكٌ، ح وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ الْمِهْرَجَانِيُّ، أنبأ أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْمُزَكِّي، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، ثنا ابْنُ بُكَيْرٍ، ثنا مَالِكٌ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، عَنْ عَمْرَةَ بِنْتِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ: خَرَجَتْ عَائِشَةُ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا إِلَى مَكَّةَ، وَمَعَهَا مَوْلَاتَانِ وَمَعَهَا غُلَامٌ لِبَنِي عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقِ، فَبُعِثَ مَعَ الْمَوْلَاتَيْنِ بِبُرْدِ مَرَاجِلٍ قَدْ خِيطَ عَلَيْهِ خِرْقَةٌ خَضْرَاءُ، قَالَتْ: فَأَخَذَ الْغُلَامُ الْبُرْدَ فَفَتَقَ عَنْهُ وَاسْتَخْرَجَهُ وَجَعَلَ مَكَانَهُ لِبْدًا أَوْ فَرْوَةً وَخَاطَ عَلَيْهِ، فَلَمَّا قَدِمَتَا الْمَوْلَاتَانِ الْمَدِينَةَ دَفَعَتَا ذَلِكَ إِلَى أَهْلِهِ، فَلَمَّا فَتَقُوا عَنْهُ وَجَدُوا فِيهِ اللِّبْدَ وَلَمْ يَجِدُوا الْبُرْدَ، فَكَلَّمُوا الْمَوْلَاتَيْنِ فَكَلَّمَتَا عَائِشَةَ أَوْ كَتَبَتَا إِلَيْهَا وَاتَّهَمَتَا الْعَبْدَ، فَسُئِلَ الْعَبْدُ عَنْ ذَلِكَ فَاعْتَرَفَ، فَأَمَرَتْ بِهِ عَائِشَةُ فَقُطِعَتْ يَدُهُ، وَقَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا: " الْقَطْعُ فِي رُبْعِ دِينَارٍ فَصَاعِدًا ".
It is narrated from Amrah bint Abd al-Rahman (may Allah have mercy on her) that Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) set out for Makkah, and with her were two slave-women and a slave belonging to the sons of Abdullah bin Abi Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with them both). A striped cloak was sent with the two slave-women, with a green cloth sewn over it. Amrah said: The slave took the cloak, unpicked the stitching, took the cloak out, put a piece of felt or a fur in its place, and sewed it up. When the two slave-women reached Madinah, they handed it over to its owners. When they unpicked it, they found the felt in it and did not find the cloak. They spoke to the two slave-women, and the two slave-women spoke to Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) or wrote to her, and the two of them accused the slave. The slave was asked about it and he confessed. Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) ordered that his hand be cut off, and Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "The hand is cut off for a quarter of a dinar or more."
