Bayhaqi 17237 — The pickpocket's hand is cut off

Abd al-Rahman bin Abi al-Zinad (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from his father (may Allah have mercy on him), and he from the jurists of the people of Madinah, that the hand of the pickpocket is to be cut, and that the hand is to be cut for something whose value is a quarter of a dinar or more.
