وَعَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ حَمَّادٍ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، أَنَّ عَلِيًّا، رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: " لَوْ أَتَيْتُ بِهِ لَرَجَمْتُهُ "، قَالَ الْعَدَنِيُّ: يَعْنِي رَجُلًا وَقَعَ عَلَى جَارِيَةِ امْرَأَتِهِ، ⦗٤١٩⦘ قَالَ الشَّيْخُ رَحِمَهُ اللهُ: قَوْلُهُ: إِنَّ ابْنَ أُمِّ عَبْدٍ، يَعْنِي ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ، لَا يَدْرِي مَا حَدَثَ بَعْدَهُ، دَلِيلٌ عَلَى نَسْخٍ وَرَدٍّ عَلَى مَا أَفْتَى بِهِ.
Ibrahim said that Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: If he were brought to me, I would stone him. Al-Adani said: Meaning the man who had intercourse with his wife's slave-girl.
The Shaykh said: By "Ibn Umm Abd" Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) is meant, and saying that he does not know what happened afterwards is evidence of its abrogation and a refutation of the fatwa he gave.
