(a) Ibn Abi Mulaykah (may Allah have mercy on him) says: My maternal aunt, Fatimah bint Abi Hubaysh (may Allah be pleased with her), came to Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) and said: I fear that I will fall into the Fire; I have left the prayer for a year or two years, I have not prayed. She said: Wait until the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) comes. He (peace and blessings be upon him) came, and Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: This is Fatimah; she is saying such and such. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to her: "Tell her to leave the prayer every month during the days of her menstruation, then perform one ritual bath (ghusl) each day, then purify herself (with ablution) at every prayer; and let her clean herself and pack herself with cotton, for it is only an illness that has befallen her, or a kick from Satan, or a vein that has ruptured." (b) It is reported from Abu Asim likewise, that he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then after that she should perform ablution for every prayer."
