وَحَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ، ثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الشَّيْبَانِيُّ الْحَافِظُ، ثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى، ثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ الْعَيْشِيُّ، ثَنَا الصَّعْقُ بْنُ حَزْنٍ، ثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحَكَمِ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " الْأُمَرَاءُ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ يَقُولُهَا ثَلَاثًا أَلَا وَلِي عَلَيْكُمْ حَقٌّ، وَلَهُمْ عَلَيْكُمْ حَقٌّ مَا عَمِلُوا فِيكُمْ بِثَلَاثٍ: مَا رَحِمُوا إِذَا اسْتُرْحِمُوا، وَمَا أَقْسَطُوا إِذَا قَسَمُوا، وَمَا عَدَلُوا إِذَا حَكَمُوا ".
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said three times: "The Imams (leaders) are from Quraysh. Just as I have a right over you, so do they, as long as they keep doing three things: showing mercy, being equitable, and being just in their judgements." [Hasan]
