أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو، ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ الْأَصَمُّ، ثنا بَحْرُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ، ثنا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: {يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا كُتِبَ عَلَيْكُمُ الْقِصَاصُ فِي الْقَتْلَى} [البقرة: ١٧٨] الْآيَةَ كُلَّهَا، ثُمَّ قَالَ: {وَكَتَبْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ فِيهَا أَنَّ النَّفْسَ بِالنَّفْسِ} [المائدة: ٤٥] الْآيَةَ كُلَّهَا. قَالَ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ فَلَمَّا نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ أُقِيدَتِ الْمَرْأَةُ مِنَ الرَّجُلِ، وَفِيمَا يُعْمَدُ مِنَ الْجِرَاحِ..
Ibn Shihab (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, says: "O you who believe, retaliation is prescribed for you in the case of those who are killed" [Surah al-Baqarah: 178] (the whole verse). Then He says: "And We prescribed for them therein that a life is for a life" [Surah al-Ma'idah: 45] (the whole verse). Ibn Shihab said: When this verse was revealed, retaliation was taken from a man for a woman, and also in deliberately inflicted wounds.
