وَأَمَّا حَدِيثُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ فَأَخْبَرَنَاهُ أَبُو الْحَسَنِ بْنُ بِشْرَانَ الْعَدْلُ بِبَغْدَادَ أنا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمِصْرِيُّ، ثنا يُوسُفُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ ثنا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ أَبِي عَبَّادٍ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عُقْبَةَ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَخْبَرَهُ عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، أَنَّ امْرَأَةً كَانَتْ تُهَرَاقُ الدِّمَاءَ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَتْ لَهَا أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ: سَلِي رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: " لِتَنْظُرْ عَدَدَ الْأَيَّامِ وَاللَّيَالِي الَّتِي كَانَتْ تَحِيضُهُنَّ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَكُونَ بِهَا الَّذِي كَانَ بِهَا وَقَدْرَهُنَّ مِنَ الشَّهْرِ فَلْتَتْرُكِ الصَّلَاةَ قَدْرَ ذَلِكَ فَإِذَا ذَهَبَ قَدْرُهَا فَلْتَغْتَسِلْ، ثُمَّ لْتَسْتَثْفِرْ بِثَوْبِهَا، ثُمَّ تُصَلِّي ".
It is narrated from Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that in the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) a woman bled continuously. Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) said to her: Ask the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Let her look at the number of days and nights in the month during which she used to menstruate before, and abandon the prayer for that many days; then take a ritual bath, bind yourself with a cloth and pray."
