أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ، نا أَبُو سَهْلِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ الْقَطَّانُ، نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَمَّادٍ الدَّبَّاغُ، نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَامِعٍ، نا الْمُعْتَمِرُ، عَنِ الْحَجَّاجِ الْبَاهِلِيِّ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا فَذَكَرَ قِصَّةَ بَرِيرَةَ قَالَ: وَحَدَّثَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا أَنَّ أَبَا بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ حَدَّثَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَعَلَ عَلَيْهَا عِدَّةَ الْحُرَّةِ.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he mentioned the story of Sayyidah Barirah (may Allah be pleased with her). He said that Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) set her waiting period as the waiting period of a free woman."
