أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو نَصْرٍ الْفَقِيهُ الشِّيرَازِيُّ، أنا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، نا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ، ح وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، أنا أَبُو الْفَضْلِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، نا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، نا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ، وَإِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، قَالَ إِسْحَاقُ: وَإِسْحَاقُ أنا وَقَالَ ابْنُ رَافِعٍ: نا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، نا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ طَاوُسٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: " كَانَ الطَّلَاقُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَبِي بَكْرٍ وَسَنَتَيْنِ مِنْ خِلَافَةِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ طَلَاقُ الثَّلَاثِ وَاحِدَةٌ، فَقَالَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ: إِنَّ النَّاسَ قَدِ اسْتَعْجَلُوا فِي أَمْرٍ كَانَتْ لَهُمْ فِيهِ أَنَاةٌ، فَلَوْ أَمْضَيْنَاهُ عَلَيْهِمْ " فَأَمْضَاهُ عَلَيْهِمْ. رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَمُحَمَّدِ بْنِ رَافِعٍ.
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: In the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), of Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him), and for the first two years of the caliphate of Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), three divorces were counted as only one. Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "People have become hasty in a matter in which they had latitude; what if we were to enforce all three divorces?" So Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) enforced all three.
