Bayhaqi 14831 — Reports on women dyeing with henna

Karimah bint Hammam said: I was with Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) when a woman asked her about dyeing the hair with henna. Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said that her master, that is, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), disliked its smell, or (she said) did not like its smell, but it is not forbidden for you, my sisters, to dye with henna. The rest of what has been narrated on this has already passed in the chapter on what a woman may display of her adornment.
