Al-Nazzal bin Sabrah (may Allah have mercy on him) said: A vessel of water was brought to Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) in an open courtyard, and he drank while standing, although people disliked drinking while standing. He said: "I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) do as you have seen me do." Then he took some water, (the narrator said:) I think he wiped his face, his feet and his hands, and then said: "This is the ablution of one who has not lost his state of ablution."
