أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الْقَطَّانُ، بِبَغْدَادَ، أنبأ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ دُرُسْتَوَيْهِ، ثنا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْحُمَيْدِيُّ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِلزُّهْرِيِّ: يَا أَبَا بَكْرٍ كَيْفَ حَدَّثْتَ: شَرُّ الطَّعَامِ، طَعَامُ الْأَغْنِيَاءِ؟ فَضَحِكَ وَقَالَ: لَيْسَ هُوَ شَرُّ الطَّعَامِ طَعَامُ الْأَغْنِيَاءِ، قَالَ سُفْيَانُ: وَكَانَ أَبِي غَنِيًّا فَأَفْزَعَنِي هَذَا الْحَدِيثُ حِينَ سَمِعْتُ بِهِ فَسَأَلْتُ الزُّهْرِيَّ فَقَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي الْأَعْرَجُ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " شَرُّ الطَّعَامِ طَعَامُ الْوَلِيمَةِ يُدْعَى لَهَا الْأَغْنِيَاءُ وَيُمْنَعُهَا الْمَسَاكِينُ وَمَنْ لَمْ يُجِبِ الدَّعْوَةَ فَقَدْ عَصَى اللهَ وَرَسُولَهُ " وَكَانَ سُفْيَانُ رُبَّمَا رَفَعَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ وَرُبَّمَا لَمْ يَرْفَعْهُ..
Sufyan (may Allah have mercy on him) said: I said to al-Zuhri (may Allah have mercy on him): O Abu Bakr, how did you narrate: "The worst food is the food of the rich"? He laughed and said: It is not "the worst food is the food of the rich." Sufyan (may Allah have mercy on him) said: My father was rich, and this hadith alarmed me when I heard it. He said: So I asked al-Zuhri (may Allah have mercy on him), and he said: Al-A'raj (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated to me that he heard Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) say that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The food of the wedding feast (walimah) to which the rich are invited and the poor are left out is the worst; and whoever does not accept the invitation has disobeyed Allah and His Messenger."
