Bayhaqi 14392 — What may be given as a dowry
أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ السُّلَمِيُّ، أنبأ عَلِيُّ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْحَافِظُ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، ثنا أَبُو شَيْبَةَ، ثنا خَالِدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ، ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ بِلَالٍ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّ عَلِيًّا رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: " الصَّدَاقُ مَا تَرَاضَى بِهِ الزَّوْجَانِ ".
Ja'far bin Muhammad narrates from his father that Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "The dowry is whatever the husband and wife agree upon."
