Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: When Abd al-Rahman (may Allah be pleased with him) came as an emigrant, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) made him a brother of Sa'd bin al-Rabi' (may Allah be pleased with him). Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) said to Abd al-Rahman (may Allah be pleased with him): I have two wives; whichever one you like, I will divorce her, and after her waiting period ends you may marry her; and half of my wealth is yours. Abd al-Rahman (may Allah be pleased with him) said: 'Barak Allahu laka fi ahlika wa malika' (May Allah Almighty bless you in your family and your wealth); "show me the way to the market." So they showed him, and he did not return until he had brought some goods. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not see him for some time; then he came with traces of yellow on him, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "What is this?" Abd al-Rahman (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I have married a woman of the Ansar. He (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "For how much dower?" Abd al-Rahman (may Allah be pleased with him) said: For gold equal to a date stone, or he said: for gold equal to the weight of a date stone. He said: "Hold a wedding feast (walimah), even if only with one sheep."
(b) Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) also narrates similarly, that whatever ghee or cheese he bought, Allah Almighty gave him only profit in it.
