أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدَانَ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ، ثنا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ شَرِيكٍ، نا يَحْيَى بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ، ثنا مُفَضَّلُ بْنُ فَضَالَةَ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ الْبَلَوِيِّ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ رَبَاحٍ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ، عَنْ عُمَرَ، مِثْلَهُ، وَقَالَ: أَصَبْتُ السُّنَّةَ وَقَدْ رُوِّينَا عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ، رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ التَّوْقِيتَ فَإِمَّا أَنْ يَكُونَ رَجَعَ إِلَيْهِ حِينَ جَاءَهُ التَّثَبُّتُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي التَّوْقِيتِ وَإِمَّا أَنْ يَكُونَ قَوْلُهُ الَّذِي يُوَافِقُ السُّنَّةَ الْمَشْهُورَةَ أَوْلَى وَقَدْ رُوِيَ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّهُ كَانَ لَا يُوَقِّتُ فِيهِ وَقْتًا.
(a) Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates the same from Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), and he said: "You have attained the Sunnah."
(b) We have narrated from Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) the time limit for wiping. Either he went back to it when the confirmed report from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about the time limit reached him, or his statement that agrees with the well-known Sunnah takes precedence. (c) It has been narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he did not set a time limit.
(b) We have narrated from Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) the time limit for wiping. Either he went back to it when the confirmed report from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about the time limit reached him, or his statement that agrees with the well-known Sunnah takes precedence.
