Bayhaqi 13251 — The Prophet ﷺ would accept what was given as a gift

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that when food was brought to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he (peace and blessings be upon him) would ask: "Is it a gift or charity?" If it was said: "It is charity," he would say to the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them): "Eat it," and he himself would not eat. And when it was said: "It is a gift," he would reach out his hand to it and eat with them.
