حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ فُورَكٍ، أنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، ثنا يُونُسُ بْنُ حَبِيبٍ، ثنا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، ثنا شَرِيكٌ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْأَحْمَرِيُّ، عَنِ ابْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا تُوُفِّيَ مِنْ خُزَاعَةَ عَلَى عَهْدِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَأُتِيَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمِيرَاثِهِ، فَقَالَ: " انْظُرُوا هَلْ مِنْ وَارِثٍ؟ "، فَالْتَمَسُوهُ فَلَمْ يَجِدُوا لَهُ وَارِثًا، فَأُخْبِرَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " ادْفَعُوهُ إِلَى أَكْبَرِ خُزَاعَةَ ".
Ibn Buraydah narrates from his father (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man from Khuza'ah died in the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and his inheritance was brought to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "See whether he has any heir." They searched but found none. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was informed, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Give his inheritance to the most senior man of Khuza'ah."
