أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو طَاهِرٍ الْفَقِيهُ، أنا أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ الْقَطَّانُ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْهِلَالِيُّ، ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ بُدَيْلِ بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ، عَنْ رَاشِدِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي عَامِرٍ الْهَوْزَنِيِّ، عَنِ الْمِقْدَامِ الْكِنْدِيِّ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " أَنَا أَوْلَى بِكُلِّ مُؤْمِنٍ مِنْ نَفْسِهِ، فَمَنْ تَرَكَ دَيْنًا أَوْ ضَيْعَةً فَإِلَيْنَا، وَمَنْ تَرَكَ مَالًا فَلِوَرَثَتِهِ، وَأَنَا مَوْلَى مَنْ لَا مَوْلَى لَهُ، أَرِثُ مَالَهُ، وَأَفُكُّ عَانَهُ، وَالْخَالُ وَارِثُ مَنْ لَا وَارِثَ لَهُ، يَرِثُ مَالَهُ وَيَفُكُّ عَانَهُ ".
Sayyiduna al-Miqdam al-Kindi (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I am closer to every believer than his own self. Whoever leaves behind a debt or children, that is our responsibility; and whoever leaves wealth, it is for his heirs. I am the guardian of one who has no guardian: I inherit his wealth and I will free his captives. And the maternal uncle is the heir of one who has no other heir: he inherits his wealth and will free his captives."
