أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ التَّاجِرُ، ثنا أَبُو حَاتِمٍ الرَّازِيُّ، ثنا الْأَنْصَارِيُّ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّى، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، أَنَّ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ أَخَذَ بِرِكَابِ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ، فَقَالَ لَهُ: " تَنَحَّ يَا ابْنَ عَمِّ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " فَقَالَ: " إِنَّا هَكَذَا نَفْعَلُ بِكُبَرَائِنَا وَعُلَمَائِنَا " وَبِمَعْنَاهُ رَوَاهُ الشَّعْبِيُّ.
Abu Salamah (may Allah have mercy on him) said that Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) took hold of the saddle of Sayyiduna Zayd bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him), and he said: "O son of the paternal uncle of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Step aside." He replied: "This is how we treat our elders and our scholars."
