Musa bin Ali narrates from his father that Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) addressed the people at al-Jabiyah and said: Whoever intends to ask about the Qur'an, let him go to Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him); whoever intends to ask about the fara'id (laws of inheritance), let him go to Zayd bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him); whoever intends to ask about fiqh (jurisprudence), let him go to Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him); and whoever intends to ask about wealth, let him come to me, for Allah has made me its treasurer and distributor.
