وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو نَصْرٍ الطَّابَرَانِيُّ، أنبأ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مَنْصُورٍ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، ثنا رَوْحٌ، ثنا هِشَامٌ، ثنا عِكْرِمَةُ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: " بُعِثَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ لِأَرْبَعِينَ سَنَةً، فَمَكَثَ بِمَكَّةَ ثَلَاثَ عَشْرَةَ يُوحَى إِلَيْهِ، ثُمَّ أُمِرَ بِالْهِجْرَةِ فَهَاجَرَ عَشْرَ سِنِينَ، وَمَاتَ وَهُوَ ابْنُ ثَلَاثٍ وَسِتِّينَ " رَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ مَطَرِ بْنِ الْفَضْلِ عَنْ رَوْحٍ. وَأَمَّا الزُّبَيْرُ بْنُ الْعَوَّامِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، فَقَدِ اخْتَلَفَتِ الرِّوَايَةُ فِي مَبْلَغِ سِنِّهِ يَوْمَ أَسْلَمَ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was given prophethood at the age of forty. He (peace and blessings be upon him) stayed in Makkah for thirteen years, with revelation coming to him. Then he was commanded to emigrate. He (peace and blessings be upon him) spent ten years in emigration, and when he passed away he was sixty-three years old.
