وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ رَبِيعَةَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، حَدَّثَنِي ⦗٣٢٦⦘ يَزِيدُ مَوْلَى الْمُنْبَعِثِ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ قَالَ: جَاءَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِلُقَطَةٍ، فَقَالَ: " عَرِّفْهَا سَنَةً، ثُمَّ اعْرِفْ عِفَاصَهَا وَوِكَاءَهَا، فَإِنْ جَاءَ أَحَدٌ يُخْبِرُكَ بِهَا، وَإِلَّا فَاسْتَنْفِقْهَا " وَذَكَرَ بَاقِيَ الْحَدِيثِ. رَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مَهْدِيٍّ بِهَذَا اللَّفْظِ، وَرَوَاهُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يُوسُفَ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ: " فَإِنْ جَاءَ أَحَدٌ يُخْبِرُكَ بِعِفَاصِهَا وَوِكَائِهَا، وَإِلَّا فَاسْتَنْفِقْ بِهَا " وَهَذِهِ اللَّفْظَةُ لَيْسَتْ فِي رِوَايَةِ أَكْثَرِهِمْ فَيُشْبِهُ أَنْ تَكُونَ غَيْرَ مَحْفُوظَةٍ كَمَا قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Zayd bin Khalid (may Allah be pleased with him) that a Bedouin came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) with a lost item. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Announce it for a year, then know its tie and its pouch. If someone comes and tells you about it, give it to him; otherwise include it in your spending."
(b) In a narration from Sufyan: "If someone comes and tells you about its pouch and its tie, give it to him; otherwise spend it."
This wording is not in the narration of most of them, so it seems not to be preserved (ghayr mahfuz), as Abu Dawud said.
