Sayyidah Umm al-Darda (may Allah be pleased with her) said: Sayyiduna Abu al-Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) said to me: Do not ask anyone for anything. I said: What if I am in need? He said: Then follow the harvesters and look at what falls from them; take it and thresh it, then grind it, then knead it, then eat it, and do not ask anyone for anything.
