It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Two kinds of dead animals and two kinds of blood have been made lawful for us: as for the dead animals, they are the locust and the fish, and as for the blood, it is the spleen and the liver." (b) All the sons of Zayd are da'if (weak) in narrating hadith. Yahya bin Ma'in (may Allah have mercy on him) criticised them. Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal and Ali bin al-Madini (may Allah have mercy on them both) declared Abdullah bin Zayd thiqah (trustworthy), but the hadith before this one is more authentic.
