It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If I were gifted a trotter, I would accept it, and if I were invited to (a meal of) a trotter, I would accept it." And he (peace and blessings be upon him) used to command us to give gifts as a bond between people, and he said: "If the people embrace Islam, they will exchange gifts even without hunger."
