أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عِيسَى بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، ثنا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ حَنْظَلَةَ بْنِ قَيْسٍ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَافِعَ بْنَ خَدِيجٍ يَقُولُ: " كُنَّا أَكْثَرَ الْأَنْصَارِ حَقْلًا، فَكُنَّا نُكْرِي الْأَرْضَ عَلَى أَنَّ لَنَا هَذِهِ وَلَهُمْ هَذِهِ، فَرُبَّمَا أَخْرَجَتْ هَذِهِ وَلَمْ تُخْرِجْ هَذِهِ، فَنَهَانَا عَنْ ذَلِكَ، وَأَمَّا الْوَرِقُ فَلَمْ يَنْهَنَا " أَخْرَجَهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ وَمُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ مِنْ حَدِيثِ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ.
Hanzalah bin Qays (may Allah have mercy on him) heard Sayyiduna Rafi' bin Khadij (may Allah be pleased with him) say: We had the most farmland among the Ansar. We used to rent out land on the condition that this (part) would be ours and this theirs. Sometimes it would yield produce and sometimes it would not, so he (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade us that. As for silver, he did not forbid us.
