وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الْقَطَّانُ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، ثنا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ، ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، ثنا مَسْلَمَةُ بْنُ نَوْفَلٍ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ الثَّقَفِيُّ، ثنا أَبِي، أَنَّهُ كَانَ مَعَ أَبِيهِ بِمِنًى فَسَمِعَ مُنَادِيًا يُنَادِي: " يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ، أَخِّرُوا الْأَحْمَالَ؛ فَإِنَّ الرِّجْلَ مُوثَقَةٌ، وَإِنَّ الْيَدَ مُعَلَّقَةٌ " فَقُلْتُ لِأَبِي: مَنْ هَذَا؟ قَالَ: عُمَرُ قَالَ يَعْقُوبُ: مَسْلَمَةُ كُوفِيٌّ ثِقَةٌ، وَرُوِيَ فِيهِ حَدِيثٌ مُسْنَدٌ بِإِسْنَادٍ غَيْرِ قَوِيٍّ.
Abu al-Mughirah al-Thaqafi (may Allah have mercy on him) says that his father told him that he was with his father at Mina, and he heard a caller announcing: O people, load the baggage onto the mounts last, for the feet are firm and the hands hang loose. I said to my father: Who is this? He said: This is Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him).
Ya'qub said: Maslamah is a Kufan, thiqah (trustworthy). A musnad hadith has been narrated on this with a chain that is not strong.
