Sayyiduna Abu al-Tufayl Amir bin Wathilah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I was with Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) when a man came to him and said: "What did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) confide to you in secret?" The narrator said: Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) became angry and said: "the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not tell me anything in secret that he concealed from people, except four statements." He said: O Commander of the Believers, what are they? He said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "May Allah Almighty curse whoever curses his parents; may Allah curse whoever slaughters for other than Allah; may Allah curse whoever gives shelter to an innovator; may Allah curse whoever alters the boundary markers of the land."
