Sayyiduna Fadl bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to me while he (peace and blessings be upon him) was severely ill, and his blessed head was bound. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Fadl, take my hand." So I took his (peace and blessings be upon him) hand until he (peace and blessings be upon him) sat upon the pulpit. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever I have taken wealth from, here is my wealth; let him take from it." A man stood up and said: O Messenger of Allah, I am owed three dirhams by you. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I neither call a claimant a liar nor ask him to swear an oath about what is owed by me. For what are your dirhams owed by me?" He said: Do you not remember that a man passed by you and asked (for charity), and you told me to give him three dirhams? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Fadl, give it to him."
