Bayhaqi 10692 — Taking possession of what was bought unmeasured

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: I bought oil in the market. When I had taken full possession of it, a man met me who offered me a good profit. I wanted to conclude the sale with him, but a man took hold of my cloak from behind. When I turned around to look, it was Sayyiduna Zayd bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him). He said: Do not sell it where you bought it until you have moved it to your own place, for "the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade selling goods in the same place where they are bought until the traders move them to their own quarters."
