Sayyiduna al-Asla' bin Sharik (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I used to saddle the she-camel of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) for travel. Once, on a cold night, I had a wet dream, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) intended to travel. I disliked saddling his mount while in a state of major impurity (janabah). I feared that if I took a ritual bath with cold water, I would die. So I placed some stones, heated water on them, then took a ritual bath, and then I caught up with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Asla'! (Why) do I see your mount unsettled?" I said: "O Messenger of Allah! I did not saddle it." Then he mentioned the full account and said: "Then I took a ritual bath with heated water."
