بَابٌ فِي بَيَانِ الْمَوْضِعِ الَّذِي يَجُوزُ التَّيَمُّمُ فِيهِ وَقَدْرِهِ مِنَ الْبَلَدِ وَطَلَبِ الْمَاءِ

Sunan ad-Daraqutni 720 — on clarifying the place where tayammum
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ شَاذَانَ ، نا مُعَلًّى ، نا شَرِيكٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنِ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ ، قَالَ : " إِذَا أَجْنَبَ الرَّجُلُ فِي السَّفَرِ تَلَوَّمَ مَا بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ آخِرِ الْوَقْتِ ، فَإِنْ لَمْ يَجِدِ الْمَاءَ تَيَمَّمَ وَصَلَّى " .
Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "When a person is on a journey, he should calculate the time between himself and the last time for the prayer. If he cannot find water, then he should perform tayammum."
